Mix Up Your Hairstyle This Fall

Your hair is one of the easiest ways that you can totally change your look. We all have a “go-to” style, one that is just easy. Sometimes the easy style is a life saver when youre running late or feeling a little lazy, but don’t get yourself in the habit of wearing the same style everyday. Mix it up in the fall! The reality is that doing something different won’t take much longer and will make a dramatic difference in your overall look! Here are some ideas for different lengths of hair and recommended styles.

Short hair:

Depending on how short your cut is can be somewhat limiting but at the very least you can always mix thing up with different products. If you aren’t used to doing much with your hair, try using some volumizing mousse before blow-drying. This will create great volume and allow your hair to hold a style better. Also you can try using pomade, gel, or hair paste on a really short style to achieve great texture. Spike it, twist it, or separate different sections for a modern-messy look. If all else fails embrace the new trend of hair accessories! Add a punch of color to a simple outfit or embellish with a rhinestone clip!

Medium hair:

If your tendency is to straighten your hair, try adding some curl/wave with your flat iron or your curling iron. You can also add some volume to your crown by teasing. French braid your bangs and clip them behind your ear for cute accent. You can experiment with half up styles, and pinning different sections of hair up or to one side. Switch your part from the middle to the side. (When changing where your hair parts it is important to blow-dry it in the position that you are trying to achieve.) Be sure to use a finishing spray when you are done styling. Most importantly be creative!

Long Hair:

While you can try any of the styles mentioned for medium length hair, you can also mix up your look with some really fun updo ideas. By curling your hair, teasing your crown, and pinning random pieces up you will be able to create a cute updo style. If you are prone to a ponytail try putting it slightly to the side, pinning your bangs different ways, pin your ponytail into a messy bun, or wrap a piece of hair around your ponytail for a chick style! You can french braid, fishtail braid, or try a french twist. Of course styling longer hair will take a little bit more time, but you will have fun trying new styles!

Overall the key is change. This fall style trends will vary quite a bit; Up, down, straight, curly, just do something different! People will notice your versatile style and you will feel great!
